Soapmaking Friend

New at this, found this app through soapmakingforum. The calculator is NOT self explanatory for newbies. For instance, if I enter weights of ingredients, will it tell me the superfat amount and lye concentration? So many questions but where to find answers? I paid for a month to see if it was truly useful... but without answers, in thinking it won't be. A tutorial could make the difference.

The software is set up like many other soapmaking software, but it does take some getting used to.

You would be the one to decide the superfat- you tell the calculator the superfat amount you'd like to use and it calculates for you. The lye concentration and amount of the water and lye is also calculated for you when you add your desired settings.

I haven’t soaped for awhile and just slowly getting back to it. I just paid the premium again. Unfortunately, I am unable to print at all. Never had this problem before. Any trick? Am getting frustrated. Have no problem printing using other programs. I have a MacBook but never had any printing problem before with this software until now.

Please, I need help to enter the supplies into my inventory; there is no option to add them.

Hello all. New to this software and a little new to soapmaking. I can’t stand using soapcalc.net…that’s what sent me here. When i put in my oils 1200 grams total, and super fat 6%, it doesn’t calculate the liquid. Only if I click the 38% lye radial button. But I thought if I put in my oils, the program will tell me how much lye I need. In old recipes of mine … about 1200 g of oil takes about 120 grms of Ly and 240 g of liquid. But anyone have any advice … is there a step by step how to use it? Thanks in advance

Yes, the software does tell you the amounts- if you put in the oils and the percentage of each. Are you using one of the apps, or the site version? If you can show a screenshot of what you're seeing, or provide a link to the recipe I can take a look and see what's happening.

Thanks for your response. I was using the app (on an iPad). But watched a video someone posted in the chats…I put in the numbers again, and of course…working. Thanks anyway. I appreciate the reply.
