I have seen some really stunning Taiwan swirl techniques and videos. Amazing technique! On YouTube, search Etsuko Watanabe, Luna swirl ”Dragon fruit“ Soap Making - Soap Challenge Club
Glass or acrylic, and what diameter? I noticed that they seem to be using either a clear acrylic or glass rod for the swirling. These look bigger than a Bic (stick) pen, at least a quarter inch in diameter, maybe a centimeter. Of course, acrylic might have the advantage of being less breakable than glass, and glass would be more durable, given that they would be exposed to soap batter. Does anyone have any specific recommendations? I have used a disposable chop stick, but then I realized that the smaller the diameter, and the thinner the trace of the batter, the less color would drag through the design.
I have a relatively inexpensive set of dividers purchased on Amazon, but I have seen some which may be custom made from acrylic or Plexiglass, that look awesome. Any suggestions on where to source?
