I heard about this over the winter and have been waiting for those dreaded plants to spring up and sure enough. I used gloves to pick them and blend with my sterile water, about 900 grams. Froze them and the next day I picked more and dried them, ground them, got about 30 grams of powder and infused them in my oils (olive, coconut, raps, shea butter) for about 3 hours at 100°F. Added my lye slowly and actually had to warm it up to 110° as well as my oils. It's been 12 hours and I just touched the boxes and they are still hot! This means either failure or success. I can't wait!! Stinging nettles have so many wonderful properties including helping with psoriasis, acne, and eczema (my teenager has suffered with this since he was about 6 months and we have been forced to give him cortisone when it got REALLY bad). I'm going to make a matching skin cream if this works out. Wish me luck and happy soaping!
