Pear's soap has been around since it was invented in England about 1807. Until 2010 its formula (and scent) remained unchanged. It is one of the world's oldest brands still in existence (though it's now owned and made by Unilever).

Has anybody gotten close to recreating that famed Pear's Soap essence (the fragrance). It was originally meant to "invoke an English garden..." On the original boxes, there were only 8 ingredients listed: water, saponified palm and coconut oils, glycerin, pine rosin, rosemary and thyme oils and "Pear's essence" fragrance (who the heck knows what that is...)

I've searched high and low on everything from YouTube to Google snf hsve not found a recipe for the smell that is even close. One soapmaking forum had a DIY version, but it included a majority of pear essential oil, and Pear's was named for it's maker and not for any pear fragrance. It was an "herbier" smell. Any tips, suggestions, ideas? I'm at a dead end. Thank you!
