My supplies prices are off

Dear Soapmaking Friends,

I have tried to make sense out of your price per container by adding the your totals and comparing it to my actual invoice. Your price per container is higher, and some instances lower. Could you help me to understand so that I can get an accurate price of how much I am spending per batch? I really do like this feature and I would like to keep using it as I grow my business.

What do you mean the price is higher or lower than what you’ve entered? It’s changing after you add it to your inventory?

It stays the same in "My purchase" screen, but after I save it, the price per container changes. I thought that it distributed the tax and shipping charges, but it doesn’t add up to the total amount that I paid the store. It’s more or less, not the actual price.
