Best shaving soap recipe

Hello, I’m new to soap making. I’ve spent weeks reading everything on this forum and I came up with something that seems ok.

I made the soap. Seems ok but I do want to make it perfect! My goal is a thick & creamy long lasting and skin moisturizing shaving soap.

Please share your thoughts! I would love to learn. (Hot Process)

Shaving soap recipes tend to be highly guarded secrets so it’s more of a trial an error. I’d suggest doing very small batches to lock in your favorite and then make a full batch.

There are a few good videos on YouTube showing dual lye shaving soap and sharing the recipes. I've just tried one of the recipes myself (but found a mismatch between SMF calculation for 60% KOH and Soapcalc calculations - I went with Soapcalc and manually calculated the 40%/60% split while my support ticket is being looked at).

No problems with SMF calculations - be warned if you are flipping back and forth between NaOH and KOH on SoapCalc, it does not preserve the tick in the 90% purity checkbox. Doh.
