    30x3 . . . mostly

11-10-24 Trying to succeed at everything. Use up avocado oil, use mango butter instead of cocoa, include castor so there are some bubbles, keep coconut high for bubbles and allowing for avocado (so reducing olive & palm). blah, blah, blah. For 8 cupcakes I assume people won't even want to use.

Re-sizing batches is still slightly off

I copied a recipe, gave it today's date, made the recipe 28oz, and then created a batch from it so that everything was connected to today's recipe. Here's the recipe: https://www.soapmakingfriend.com/recipes/88917.6-20-24-restorative-variation-2-kiss-pour The math within the Batch window has...

Re-sizing batches is still slightly off

I'm still getting conflicting math between the recipes I create and the batches I turn them into. I made a 120oz recipe that I wanted as a 28oz batch. So I created a new batch and called it Restorative #2 for Kiss Pour: https://www.soapmakingfriend.com/batches/view/8726 To check the batch...

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

It's better! Closer. Not 100%. I made two 12oz batches yesterday where only one ingredient was different (organic red palm oil vs. palm oil). Here's what happened. 1. The oil measurements weren't the same even though the % were exactly the same -- the difference wasn't huge but makes no...

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

This crazy math goes back several months, which explains why my inventory has been off for so long. Here's a batch from February that's 150oz and as an example 94oz of cocoa butter is being used and 65,000oz of Apricot oil is being used. Now I understand why my recent batches say I'm out of...

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

Last problem!!! I just printed my 120oz batch from the Recipe calculator and the calculator says the total batch weight is 124.43oz (printout attached). 23.77 (liquid) +11.88 (lye) +84.35 (oils) = 120oz. Not sure what's going on . . .

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

Thanks! I'm laughing because all I want to do is make soap, and I thought using the batch function would be helpful (I never used it before last year) and now it's . . . . more of a head scratcher. I'm hesitant to mention I found another software bug that actually isn't a bug but other...

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

Here's the original recipe for the above batch (the one I created today). My "Notes" are no longer printing at the top of the page when I print directly from the Recipe page. That just started today. I printed two separate recipes and my notes did not print on either one...

Re-sizing a batch creates crazy math with oil proportions

Thank you! I just tried to make a batch with a new recipe and the math is incorrect with this, too. The recipe itself is fine -- but when I turn it into a batch the math goes haywire. The total batch size is 120oz, so Palm, Coconut & Olive should be around 20+oz each, but only Palm has the...
