My lye in the eye freakout

So I was piping roses on top of my latest batch when suddenly I felt the familiar tingle of a lye burn about to happen...right at the corner of my eye. It wasn't actually in my eye but nonetheless, I dropped everything and hopped in the shower, clothes and all, and started flushing my eye like...

    Hp egg soap

That's an interesting idea. What would the purpose of the egg be?

    Lye safety

I live in the Florida panhandle so we're at the end of winter Temps here. Idk what I'm going to do in August when my ac is struggling to keep up. I'm quite a messy soapmaker so I really do need to make sure I cover all my skin. I've been just wearing one of those medical gowns over my shorts and...

    Lye safety

We all know to wear long sleeves and long pants when making soap to protect our skin from the lye, but lately I've been having issues with profuse sweating, even when the ac is on blast. Do any other ladies of a certain age have a way to protect yourself without getting so hot? I'm willing to...

    Goat milk soap

I'd just say that soap made with the Walmart shortening might have a shorter shelf life. I used to use it frequently but after about 3-4 months some batches would develop a rancid smell and DOS. Some of my batches never developed either but more than half had at least one or the other. I think...

    Cost function

It still glitches a lot, but sometimesit doesn't. If the cost is obviously wrong, I just delete the batch and try to recreate it in a few hours. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to get it right but it eventuallygets there. See if that works for you. It's a pain but I've got orders to fill and...

I'm not even sure how to do that so I don't think so.

    Oil leaking from CP soap

I had a similar issue the first time I made milk soap. I was so obsessed with keeping the temperature low so I wouldn't scorch the milk that I got the false trace Yooper is talking about. I started using powdered milk, mixing it into the oils before I add the lye solution and putting in the...

    Cost function

The recipe amounts of ingredients is accurate in the part of the batch that gives measurements but for some reason in the cost section they are WAY off. The measurement says 500g where it calculates the ingredients but at the part where it calculates the cost of the ingredient is only 20g and...

    Can't add purchase

The lists were already populated. I've been doing this for months and thus is the first time there is no list of products and it wants me to add new. Why do I all the sudden need to add the oil and it's sap Val to a list that last week had all the values already there? I used to have 6 suppliers...

    Can't add purchase

I went to add my delivery to my purchases and there were no suppliers to select from. So I added a new supplier and tried to move on but then there are no base oil types either. There are no choices in ANY of the categories either.

    Test batches

The design didn't turn out but the soap recipe is the same one I always make and sells pretty good. It just doesn't look good. I just feel weird about putting a failure on display.

    Man Scent Essential Oil Blend

All of my brothers LOVE a vetiver and lemongrass blend I made early on in my soapmaking when I did a lot of experimenting. I keep making it for them but I think it smells like gym socks with bug spray on them. To each their own I guess. I think wood oils are also more favored by men.

    Test batches

My test batches always either turn out just like I planned or comple failures that can't be saved. But my latest test batch turned out usable but not like I planned so I'm wondering if I should try to sell it at a discount or not. If you sell your soap, what do you do with test batches that...

    Fat grease...

I keep a 100% coconut oil liquid soap for greasy kitchen jobs and add pumice to it for my hubby's soap. We keep them separate because they are quite drying. I tried 100% coconut oil with a bar soap but for whatever reason it still left that greasy feeling. It works better as a liquid soap.

    New batches won't save

I can't save any new batches. When I click on "save batch" the button goes unclickable and it just freezes. If I navigate away from the page it just disappears.
