Notes:
Usage Rate:Typical dosage is 10 g to 30 g citric acid powder for every 1,000 g fats (1% to 3% ppo). Use more for hard water, less for soft.
Purpose:Citric acid reduces the amount of sticky soap scum created when lye soap is used in water.
How to Add to Soap:Dissolve citric acid in about 2 times its weight of water. Stick blend the citric acid mixture into the oils. Use citrus juice as-is.

How to Add to Soap:Add to warm lye solution.

Activated charcoal
Usage Rate:
1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon per pound of oils (depends on how dark you want your soap)
Purpose:Natural colorant - gray to black
How to Add to Soap:Add to oils before mixing in lye solution.
