Dish soap February 2024 shared on soapmaking forum

Notes:
Ser aside part of the lye water to Dissolve sugar, use 2-3 times water for amount of sugar, Add Citric acid to lye water , stir to dissolve Citric acid then add sugar water to this before adding lye., add lye very slowly, don't let the sugar burn, the solution will have a light yellow color, cool it down by placing lye water over a container with cool tap water if needed. Set lye waste in a safe place.... then on the oils container... Add alcohol and Aloe to oils and mix well before adding lye water to the oils. I added in the calculatior as per liquid oil(whatever they are) put total liquid oil amount as soy and hard oils as Lard( tallow, palm) add coconut and castor oil as itself in the calculator. The use of 1/2 liquid oils and 1/2 hard oils is a good. You can add more liquid oils to use them up like 2/3. The more liquid oil you use, the softer the soap will be. It's still ok. You just need a way to let the excess water dry in between uses. Or it gets gooey and messy. Add the alcohol in the oils. I added 15% ethyl hand sanitizer (70% ethyl alcohol)in my last recipe because the hand sanitizer with the ethyl alcohol was sitting around for a while. You can add less alcohol to try, like 5%. The addition of Alcohol really makes a difference. The soap foams better, rinses off better, and gives a nice shine to dishes. Also, note that I adjusted the lye strength percentage to less than 99% to create a negative superfat. Leave the soap to cure and create soda add. After curing for a month you can wash off the soda ash with gloves and do a zap test b4 using it on bare hands I also used a munchkin silicone suction bowl that I no longer needed for my daughter to keep the soap stuck to the front wall of the sink, it keeps the excess water out and it's convenient to load the sponge. I warm up the soap in the microwave and press it into the bowl to reload
