Notes:
- Measure out 30g water and dissolve 1 tsp sugar in the water
- Measure out cold water less 30g
- Dissolve 10g out of the 300g salt into this water
- Measure out the lye
- Add lye to salt water and stir till dissolved
- Once lye water is clear, add sugar water to lye water and set aside to cool
- Weigh out coconut and shea into saucepan and slowly melt over gentle heat
- Measure out castor oil and rice bran oil
- Mix oils together
- Blend charcoal into the oils with stick blender
- Measure out 20g patchouli essential oil
- When lye and oils are around 90 degrees Fahrenheit slowly pour lye into oils
- Use stick blender on slow and in short bursts between manual stirring to emulsion - not even trace as salt accelerates thickening
- Stir essential oil mix into batter using a spatula (or add it while blending to emulsion it does not accelerate)
- Stir in rest of salt (290g) using a spatula - do not stick blend
- Quickly pour into molds, spray with alcohol
- Unmold after 6 - 8 hours
