half batch: 12 round soaps to test quantity and lapiz lazuli ingredients

Notes:
Removed the clay to replace with the indigo powder. Dissolve indigo powder in an extra ounce of warm water. The idea is to create an in the pot swirl of gold in deep blue, like lapiz lazuli. Mix 1.5 teaspoons gold mica with 1 extra ounce rice bran oil. Use ⅔ of the gold mix in a small separated amounted of batter to create a gold swirl in the blue soap. Keep ⅓ to create gold veins or swirls on top of soaps.
  1. Measure out 1 oz from the total water, warm for 10 seconds and dissolve sugar in it
  2. Measure out an extra ounce of warm water and dissolve indigo powder in it then add the dark blue mica to the mix
  3. Measure out gold mica into extra ounce of rice bran oil
  4. Measure out rest of cold water and dissolve citric acid in it
  5. Measure out lye and add to cold citric water
  6. Set aside with sugar water to cool
  7. Weigh out coconut oil, shea butter and lard and put on low heat to melt
  8. Weigh out rice bran oil and castor oil
  9. Measure out fragrance oil
  10. Add cool oils to melted oils
  11. Add sugar water and sodium lactate to lye water
  12. When both lye and fats are at 95 degrees combine to emulsion
  13. Separate off one cup of batter into separate jug
  14. Add ⅔ gold oil to that and blend into light trace
  15. Add liquid dark blue to rest of batter and blend in
  16. Add fragrance and blend in to light trace
  17. Pour gold into blue in high to low thin stream and turn once with a spatula
  18. Pour into round molds
  19. Drop rest of gold mica on top and swirl
  20. Let set for 5 minutes
  21. Lightly spray with a mixture of half mineral oil and half isopropyl alcohol to prevent soda ash
