Gentle Shea - Redwood and Moss
Notes:
- Spirulina and French Green Clay will (hopefully) help make this batch nice and green. Take out 3 tbsp of the oils, and add the spirulina (½ - ¾ tsp), and clay (4 ½ - 5 tsp), and mix these together. Add these at light trace.
- In order to get a nice dark green, don't use milks for liquid….water only.
- Adding 17g of honey. Warm the honey slightly, and dissolve in 1 tbsp warm distilled water. Add at very light trace. Do NOT add directly to oils or lye. If added too early, it will have a tan undertone.
- add fragrance oil at light trace.
- encourage gentle gel by lightly tenting with a towel, and set the mold on a warm counter. Not a heavy insulation. Another option is to turn oven on to 170, and let it heat for a few minutes, then TURN IT OFF and put the soap inside. Close the door and walk away. This is a ‘heat nudge’, not CPOP.
- nice smoothe color
- doubling the recipe gave me a full bar, plus 4 massage bars, plus 3 ‘farmhouse bars’
- very soft cut after sitting in the mold for 1 week, and was hard to get out of the smaller molds, so I popped the massage bars into the freezer
- I was hoping for a darker green, but it turned out very light sage green
