Lilac & Clay Soap

Used “pink Brazilian” clay, which brought some color to the soap, I added ~1/4 tsp purple ultramarine type pigment, a small amount that reinforces the pale purple from the clay. This recipe uses a lot of various oils, but rebuild it by consolidating some similar oils. I force gel phase by putting in a warm insulated place, like an oven with the light on, overnight. Since only single color I keep design down to a minimum, like texturing on top. I split this batch between two loafs, then added dried lavender flowers to the top of one. My favorite floral scent. I grew up in western New York, known for its lilacs. We used to smell all the varieties during the lilac festival every year, this soap reminds me of that, it’s a very good fragrance.
